Ford Fathom – All-New Ford Electric Truck Coming Soon
The Ford Fathom is an all-new Ford electric truck coming soon, bringing a new affordable EV pickup to the Ford lineup. Built on Ford’s new Universal Electric Vehicle Platform, the Fathom will be the first vehicle produced on the next-generation architecture and is designed to combine pickup truck utility, passenger space and modern electric technology.
Ford has announced a starting MSRP of $28,350 with the standard-range battery, with preorders scheduled to begin in early 2027. The Ford Fathom will also offer a pickup bed and front trunk, or frunk, providing additional cargo flexibility for everyday driving, work and recreation.
What Is the Ford Fathom?
The Ford Fathom is a completely new electric pickup rather than an electric version of an existing Ford truck. It will be the first vehicle built on Ford’s Universal Electric Vehicle Platform, a new architecture created to support a future generation of more affordable Ford EVs.
Ford describes the Fathom as a midsize electric truck designed to provide the utility of an open pickup bed while maximizing interior passenger space. The truck is projected to offer more passenger volume than a Toyota RAV4 while also providing both a bed and frunk for cargo.
When Will the Ford Fathom Be Available?
Ford Fathom preorders are expected to open in early 2027, with the first customer deliveries planned for later in 2027. Ford has not yet announced the exact preorder date or complete ordering process.
As Ford releases additional information, Chastang Ford will continue updating this page with the latest details about availability, configurations, battery choices, features and ordering information for Houston-area Ford EV shoppers.
How Much Will the Ford Fathom Cost?
Ford has announced a starting MSRP of $28,350 for the base Ford Fathom equipped with the standard-range battery.
That price excludes taxes, title, registration, fees and Ford’s announced $1,595 destination and delivery charge. Final dealer selling prices and pricing for additional configurations or battery options have not yet been announced.
This price point could make the Fathom one of the most accessible entries into Ford’s electric truck lineup and will give shoppers another alternative to larger electric pickups such as the F-150 Lightning.
Ford Fathom Technology & Features
Although Ford has not yet released the complete Ford Fathom feature list, several important technologies have already been confirmed.
Every Ford Fathom will be BlueCruise-capable and equipped with the hardware necessary for Ford’s next generation of hands-free highway driving assistance. Ford has also confirmed bi-directional power capability, a large high-resolution touchscreen and a digital key.
The combination of electric power, advanced technology and everyday truck utility is intended to make the Fathom useful for drivers who want an EV without giving up the versatility of a pickup.
What Has Ford Not Revealed About the Fathom Yet?
There is still plenty we don’t know about the Ford Fathom.
Ford has not yet announced final battery capacities, EPA-estimated driving range, horsepower, towing capacity, payload ratings, charging speeds or the complete lineup of available configurations. Ford has also indicated that additional information about battery choices and next-generation BlueCruise packaging will be released closer to launch.
